The AXON PoE Net Protector 1Gb is designed to protect against overvoltages, the appliances that communicate over 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet network and that are powered remotely through PoE technology. The PoE 1Gb technology appliances are powered by all 4 pairs of wires in twisted pair cable.
The AXON PoE Net Protector 1Gb protects both, data and power transmission. Both of them are protected with gas discharge tube (GDT) surge arresters and semiconductor overvoltage protectors. The GDT surge arresters allow significant impact currents to be discharged to the earth, while semiconductor components limit the overvoltages that can occur between individual wires within a cable.
The AXON PoE Net Protector 1Gb has a metal housing that guarantees high resistance to various mechanical exposures and provides shielding of the entire protective circuit. The shielded RJ45 connectors provide shield continuity when using STP twisted pair.
The device shall work properly if connected to a proper earthing or PE conductor in a manner that complies with the current regulations.
