The AXON PoE Net Protector family is designed to provide surge protection of the 10/100 Mbps Ethernet networks data transfer devices and is particularly designed to protect POE-capable modems, routers and repeaters, i.e. powered over unused pairs of wires of the transmission cable. The AXON PoE Net Protector contains two channels – data transmission lines (lines 1-2, 3-6) and power supply lines (lines 4+ 5, 7+ 8). Both of them are protected by surge arresters, which discharge the surge energy to the earth and also protect the lines in the individual pairs of wires. In order to increase the load capacity of the power supply circuit, the line 4 is shorted out with the line 5, as well as the line 7 with the line 8.
